Yes, I know this was so last week, but remember I was on break so I haven't had a chance to write my thoughts about the award show. This award show is not equivalent to the Grammy's because we actually have our own Latin Grammy ceremony. Also, people can vote online for their favorite artists and Univision sets up the whole event. It is usually held in Miami. Even our own president, Barack Obama, gave a salute to all the Latinos via satelite and spoke a little bit of Spanish. That was one of the highlights of the award show as well as these performances:
Si, ya se que pasaron los premios la semana pasada, pero recuerden que estuve de vacaciones y pues no me di chance de postear mis pensamientos sobre la ceremonia. Hasta nuestro Presidente Americano Barack Obama mando saludar a todos via satelite y hablo poquito de español! Aparte de eso, aqui tienen las mejores presentaciones del evento:
1. Emmanuel- Popurrí: La chica de humo, Bella Señora, Toda la vida, Quiero dormir cansado, De tenerla ya
All that was missing was Emmanuel singing with his immensly talented son, Alexander Acha, and presenting him to the United States!
Lo único que falto en su presentación a Emmanuel es que les presentara a los Estados Unidos a su hijazo, Alexander Acha, ¡cantando!
2. Alejandra Guzmán- Popurrí: Hacer el amor con otro, Hasta el final (con/with Mario Domm de/of Camila), Míralo, Mírala, Eternamente bella
3. Luis Fonsi con Aleks Syntek, David Bisbal y Noel Schajris (Ex-Sin Bandera) cantando/ singing Aquí estoy yo
-Aunque La Guzmán perdió en todas las categorías donde fue nominada, hasta que Univision le hace homenaje con su trayectoria
-If Univision wanted to get big ratings last year, they should have acknowledged Timbiriche for their 25 year-anniversary and made Paulina and Thalia sing with them. That would’ve been the performance of the decade!
-El año pasado hubieran roto record con los ratings con una mega presentación celebrando los 25 años de Timbiriche y que Paulina cantara con ellos y Thalía también, eso si hubiera sido un espectáculo!
-I’m very happy that Motel was nominated for best rock artist, but now it seems Juanes is the preffered rocker.
-Que bueno que Motel estuvo nominado como mejor artista rock, pero ahora resulta que Juanes es el rockero preferido.

I don’t think Elisa “Lola” Gonzalez deserved the award for best new artist. Playa Limbo deserved to win.
