First of all I hope health care officials come up with a solution/cure to the Swine Flu affecting Mexico and other countries and US States these last couple of weeks. Ha-Ash had to postpone their concert at the National Auditorium until late May, and Paty Cantu even wrote on her blog and asked people to be careful and more safe. She suggests washing your hands after going out, drinking a lot of vitamins, and using a face mask when going out. Her blog is listed on the blogs list to your right if you'd like to read more. Cuando el hijo de uno de los artistas mas grandiosos de Latinoamérica se lanza como cantante, hay esa especulación sobre si lo hará o no lo hará. Será igual de exitoso como su padre? O un fracaso total? 1992- De Don Chente a Alex Ya tenemos a Alejandro Fernández quien últimamente le ha ido muy bien en el genero pop con canciones escritas por Sin Bandera pero el no canta igual como su padre. Out of all the Timbiriche videos I chose this one because I love the choreography and how the seven members are fully participating in the song, even though Thalia, Erik & Paulina only sing the chorus. Check out future videos of Timbiriche and they no longer have choreographed parts for the seven members ("Acelerar", "Tu y yo somos uno mismo", "No se si es amor" etc.). Yes, I know this was so last week, but remember I was on break so I haven't had a chance to write my thoughts about the award show. This award show is not equivalent to the Grammy's because we actually have our own Latin Grammy ceremony. Also, people can vote online for their favorite artists and Univision sets up the whole event. It is usually held in Miami. Even our own president, Barack Obama, gave a salute to all the Latinos via satelite and spoke a little bit of Spanish. So you can learn more about the artists that were present here is a little info on each of them (in order of their appearance): Aleks Syntek (began around 1989): Singer. Songwriter. Producer. One of the biggest pop artists in Latin America. He has created an equilibrium between producing well-made pop songs without falling into the commercial tentacles that wrap around the music world. Moenia (began in 1992): The Mexican Depeche Mode. Along with Aleks Syntek, the all-male trio, Moenia, is considered one of the first successful experimental music composers and performers. They have found their niche in markets normally dominated by Latin ballad singers, teenage pop groups and musical genres with more mass appeal like Regional Mexican. Every summer, Latino artists tour & visit the bay area. Most of them come to small venues like Club Monaco Barcelona in Sunnyvale while others pair up with someone else and come to the Oakland Arena. In the summer of '06 Belanova came for the first time. In 2007, Maria Jose ( Kabah ), Lu and Motel toured the U.S. together and made a stop in Club Monaco Barcelona. Last year, Camila came to San Francisco in June, Aleks Syntek and Allison (separately) in July, and in August, Motel and Alejandra Guzman came to the Oakland Arena.
